LOVATO USA supports young runners
through the Starting Strides program
LOVATO USA is empowering the next generation by partnering with the J&A Racing Foundation to support the Starting Strides program. This initiative helps remove barriers that prevent students from participating in the Operation Smile Shamrock Final Mile, a fitness program for elementary-aged children that encourages lifelong health and helps prevent childhood obesity. Barriers to this event include financial costs and transportation – this is where the program comes in.
Through the Starting Strides program, scholarships are awarded to schools in economically disadvantaged communities, ensuring that up to 50 students per school receive everything they need to cross the finish line. Each scholarship includes:
A brand-new pair of
running shoes
A personalized shoe fitting from Running Etc
Entry into the Operation Smile Shamrock Final Mile
A school shirt to
wear on race day
Transportation to and
from the event
By providing the right resources, Starting Strides allows students to focus on their experience, free from financial and logistical concerns. LOVATO USA is honored to contribute to this initiative and help inspire young runners to take their first steps toward a lifetime of health and confidence.
